“Sheridan On…” The Bible

Stay tuned for the book by book verse by verse studies on the Scriptures. First in line is “Sheridan On Romans.” We will be following this up with “Sheridan On Genesis,” etc… We will call this the “Sheridan On…” series. The goal will be to introduce people to the Living God through His Scriptures.

I have discovered that as a teacher of the Scriptures that it is easy to assume that people are farther along than they are. We assume that people have a knowledge of the basic teachings like justification (Romans 3-5), sanctification (Romans 5-8), dispensational truth (Romans 9-11), creation (Genesis), the body of Christ (Ephesians), the conflict of the ages (Job), resurrection (1 Corinthians) and many other foundational teachings. We forget that we live in a time in which we are surrounded by the rubble of decayed theology (Nehemiah) because of the centuries of false teaching. Thus these studies. It is our goal to present the truth from the pure fountain of truth itself – The living words of the living God. It is only when we go back to this fountain head of truth that we can properly identify the error, remove the rubble, and build on the rock solid foundation. The author of these studied does not claim infallibility, but he does claim conviction to the truth. I will not amuse you with the appearance of deliberation when I am already convinced as to the truth. I will only present the truth, the reasons for that conviction, and by the grace of God it will be presented in such a way that will only give credit to the truth and not wrongfully offend others.

Our job is to approach the scriptures in the recognition that is God who is speaking, and in that attitude we read them, believe them, and worship the author. I hope that you will use these studies and pass them on to others. We now commend you to God and to the word of His grace.
