Dear Brother Sheridan,
I listened to your show on WFAM, Augusta, Ga.
About four months ago, I had a conversation with one of the rotating minsters at LOTS Minisrty,a street outreach church to the poor and homeless. I was discussing the importance of delivering upbeat messages to the hopeless and downtrodden: not the message of what would happen to their soul if they were to die that night.
Your sermon on Saturday lightened my heart. About 30 years ago, the spirit led me to the biblical verses that centered around Jesus’ second coming and the revelation of the fact that some of us would be alive at the time of His return. the awareness of this promise led me on a search for verses that reinforced the verse of the wages of sin is death.
The Spirit has me now focusing on writing an essay entitled You Can Run But You Can’t Hide premised on the fact that we sinners will face the consequences of our sins unless we repent and accept the redemptive sacrifice of Jesus on the Cross.
It is my belief we urgently need a spiritual revival in America and the world. During this revival, if ministers would focus on the message of hope you articulated, we would engender a massive changing of the mind in the world as we pray for the return of Jesus Christ. I believe Satan has weaved a web of self destruction as evidenced by the growing number of suicides and destructive behaviors such as abotion, homosexuality and drug abuse.
As the pyramids were a result of an accumalation of one stones; so too ,I believe, each individual prayer raised to God asking for His Son’s return will bring about the event.
Thanks for listening.
Your brother in Christ
Earl
