Bible Minute: Are You Ignorant? Part 5

In 1 Thessalonians 4 we read that Paul did not want the Thessalonians to be ignorant concerning those were asleep in Christ. We do not sorrow as those who are without Christ do, when our dear ones die. Paul uses the term sleep as a most beautiful figure for the distressing Thessalonians. The resurrection of Jesus is the guarantee that all who are his will be likewise raised. The resurrection of the body of Christ follows the Lord’s presence in the air long before his coming to the earth. Until Paul received this revelation, the only resurrection of the saints was the resurrection of life, called the former resurrection. At the Lord’s presence in the air, the living as well as the dead saints of the body of Christ will be changed and always be together with the Lord. This is our Happy Expectation! Don’t be ignorant of this.
