Bible Minute: Are You Ignorant? Part 4

In 1 Corinthians 12:1 we read that Paul did not want the Corinthians to be ignorant of spiritual gifts. Today there is much debate on the gifts. The most gifted church in the Bible was the most carnal. The reason that there was failure in Corinth is because the gifts were being used to draw a crowd, not edify the Church. The gifts were to reveal Christ to the Church, not make you put money in the offering plate. Paul’s rule was that if you desire spiritual gifts; seek to use them to the edifying of the Church. Paul in 1 Corinthians 13 spoke of a time when gifts were to cease, and then all that would remain is love. If love does not motivate the gift while the gift is in existence, when God takes the gift away, what would you have? Don’t be ignorant of this.
